Just a day after a disappointing 2007 US Open for the champion, Tiger Woods became a father.
His wife Elin gave birth to a healthy baby girl on Monday and the name of Tiger Woods baby is Sam Alexis Woods. There couldn't be a better way to take Woods mind off of the US Open, than to receive the greatest gift possible.
The golf champion had announced before the US Open that him and Elin are expecting the baby anytime and he was prepared to leave the 107th in a moment's notice, had the baby arrived during the Championship.
This is Tiger Woods first child and although his next tournament is scheduled for the end of June, he will most likely pass, and spend some time with his baby girl Sam.
According to a statement by Tiger Woods: "Both Elin and Sam are doing well and resting peacefully. We want to thank our doctors and the hospital staff for all their dedicated and hard work. This is truly a special time in our lives and we look forward to introducing Sam to our family and friends over the next few weeks. We thank everyone for their well wishes and continued respect of our privacy."
